The Super Bowl Sunday is coming this weekend and we like to celebrate with creative football food with family. Pinterest is full of different football ideas and this week we will be posting our take on the football ideas.

Football Sandwich Cookies

*Homemade Oreo Cookie Dough

*Add a small amount of flour to dough if needed to roll out dough. Being careful not to overwork the dough.

*Roll dough out on a flat powdered sugar dusted mat or counter surface and cut into football shapes (Being careful not to overwork the dough).

*See the above recipe on baking, frosting for the sandwich cookies.

*Pipe frosting onto the top football sandwich cookies using a plastic bag with one of the corners cut off; cutting the corner to the size of football strips you want to pipe onto the football sandwich cookies. See pictures below.

Monster Chip Cookies

If you like a crunchy, yet chewy chocolate chip cookies then you will like these cookies. We really like the monster size cookie and hope you will too!

Monster Chip Cookies

*1 cup Butter, room temperature
*1/2 cup Butter Flavored Shortening
*1 cup Granulated Sugar
*1 1/3 cup Light Brown Sugar
*1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
*1 1/2 teaspoons Sea Salt
*2 1/4 cups All-purpose Flour
*3/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour
*2 teaspoon Baking Soda
*1 teaspoon Cinnamon
*3/4 cup Quick Cooking Oats
*2-3 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
*1 cup Mini Baking M&M’s
*2 cups chopped Pecans, optional

Cream together the following ingredients in a stand mixer with paddle attachment; Butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla extract and sea salt.

Whisk together in a bowl the dry ingredients; flour, baking soda, and cinnamon.

Add the dry whisked ingredients a cup at a time to the creamed mixture and mix on medium speed until well combined.

Remove bowl from stand mixer and stir in the oats, semi-sweet chocolate chips, mini baking M&M’s and pecans.

Then Scoop 1/4 cup of the cookie dough for each cookie onto a Silpat covered 1/2 baking sheet. (Spacing about 3 inches apart, 6 cookies per baking sheet.)

Bake in a pre-heated oven 350*F. for 14-16 minutes or until centers are set.

Remove from oven and allow to cool 2 minutes before removing cookies from cookie sheet to cooling rack.

Makes 40 monster cookies
