Apples in our home decor is one of my favorite things to decorate with, I love the country look. I found this cute apple banner and new I wanted to make one in country colors. You can find how to make this banner here.

I made these single apples pictured below for my tree ornaments, I made them a little different than the ones on the banner. I cut out two apples one out of felt a little larger than the one out of fabric and then blanket stitched around the fabric apple to attach to the felt. The stem is made the same as the ones in the Green and Red banner but the leaf is a scatter pre made fabric leaf sewn to finished apple. I then slipped a piece of Jute through the apple stem making a loop and tied a knot.

Apple Tablescape with Banner

20130912-220156.jpg

September decorating at our house is Back to School and Apples. This is the trade out banner that I made last year and in March I started posting them with instructions of how to make them. You can check out the steps from making them here and here

This is a simple apple pattern you could use a cookie cutter and just cut out the bite marks, etc. I blanket stitched around the edge of the apple shapes and I cut out two apple shapes for each apple, one out of red felt and one out of fabric. These are made a little different than my past exchangeable Banner Pieces. You can check out my Burlap Apple Banner here .
