Decorating for the Fourth of July is always a fun time around our house. This is how our front porch looks like this year.

The flags are from Hobby Lobby and the bows are from the dollar store.

Wood Flag

I went to Home Depot and bought the wood post bundles (I used 12 of them) and spray painted them with red and white paint and used star sponge stamps. Then I dipped (or use a sponge brush) the stamps in white acrylic paint and pressed them on the blue spray painted corner of the wood slats after screwing them all together. See picture.

You could also stick this wood flag in your grass for a yard decoration…..

Spoon out small piles of cocoa rice cereal, makes about 13, when they are cool enough to handle put oil on your hands and shape into boat shapes.

I tried the candy cover sticks but didn’t work well for me so I used skewers cut in half for the sail.

I used a chop stick to poke the candy stick in boat base but I liked using the skewers better.
